I remind this beautiful statement, not only to myself but also to my amazing clients, daily. Take care of yourself first if you want to take care of others.
We think that we always have to give all of our energy to others. You can do it to a point until you are completely exhausted and start to feel unwell. That is the moment when people realize something is not right… But we have this thing unconsciously that when we put someone else first this is defining us as a good and kind person, that this is how we show love. But it is not true. It is not loving towards our soul, unfortunately. You should know that you are a kind and good person and you don’t need to prove it to anyone.
To LOVE yourself first, take care of yourself and then you will be able to take 1000 % better care of others because you will have energy to do it.
Let me remind you this: to love yourself, to nurture yourself, to put yourself first is not selfish it is SELF-LOVING. So many people have tendency to mix up these terms. Especially those who find it extremely hard to love themselves.
No matter how busy or hard your life seems you always can find “ME TIME” and also don’t forget that you always can ask for help. It doesn’t always have to be you doing everything all the time.
Everything else is an excuse and I tell you why. You do have 1 minute to close your eyes everyday (or a few times a day ) to take a deep breath and be present in your body. To stop only for literally one minute. Taking care of yourself also means stopping and being present.
Later, of course from one minute we can make 5, 10 or 20 minutes. It will happen automatically because once you stop for a bit your body will ask for more.
What do you do immediately after waking up? What is your morning routine? Could you imagine yourself to stretch for 5 minutes even if it is exercising directly in your bed?
Can you spend one minute doing a breathing exercise and another one minute to find a few reasons to be grateful for, to start your day? It is all possible and it takes so little and it will certainly make you feel better.
Also remember that you have free will and if there is for example something you don’t want to do .. express yourself and DO NOT DO it. Life is pretty simple only our mind is making it extremely complicated.
