I created two soothing, cooling holistic and natural recipes for facial application.
With summer time here now, from time to time we might suffer from sun exposure reactions, which obviously can be caused by prolonged stays in the sun without skin protection when the heat is so unbearable that we may end up with heat rash and sunburn or an allergic reaction to the sun which can be caused from many different reasons. All of these are extremely uncomfortable and share similar or the same symptoms such as itchiness, redness, pinkness, pain, burning, even swelling on our face which is a particularly sensitive area.
In the worst scenario when reaction is really bad, people can suffer from serious skin damage, painful blisters, scaling, crusting or bleeding, lumps filled with pus, fever. In this case do not wait to seek medical help.
Please be careful and self loving while you are enjoying the summer!
Stay well hydrated.
Use sensible sun protection which is reapplied regularly especially when you go swimming.
Avoid the sun completely in its strongest hours if you can.
Always search for the shade.
Wear head protection.
Do not over do it sunbathing and make your health a priority.

Cooling, Refreshing and Hydrating Cucumber Mask
A small chunk of cucumber as you can see in the video around 10 cm long (best to use cold from fridge)
4ml of sweet almond oil (or grapeseed, if you suffer from nut allergy) mixed with 1 drop of peppermint essential oil
Once this is blended together add 2 drops of lavender essential oil and stir.
You can apply this mask twice a day morning and evening. Store in the fridge no longer than 48 hours, then make a fresh one.
Cold Tea Compress
1 tablespoon of herbal mix from fresh or dry chamomile
Several leaves of Melissa fresh or dried
1 cup cold filtered water
4 drops peppermint essential oil
Make a tea from the herbs and let it cool down. Once cool, mix it with the filtered water and add the essential oil, then stir. If your compress solution is not cold enough put it in the fridge for a while.
You can apply this compress several times a day or overnight. Also you can use it on other parts of your body which need cooling and soothing.
*TIP* After you wash your face after any of the cooling remedies you can apply this facial homemade cooling blend.
Here is the recipe:
10 ml sweet almond oil (substitute this if you suffer from nut allergy)
3 drops of peppermint essential oil
